If you spend any amount of time on the Internet you have heard the term ebusiness or e-business. How does this differentiate from just the good old business? In principle there is no difference. In practice, the difference is in the infrastructure rather than being a different business world. You can say that all ebusiness is business but not all business is ebusiness. E-business is electronic business and gained popularity in usage because of the Internet.
Essentially, ebusiness is the act of doing business over the Web. A traditional business can also be engaged in ebusiness if they use the Web in a critical role. But it all is still business. It requires the same type of hard work and dedication, as well as sacrifices, investment, and all the elements needed to make it successful. However, the Internet plays a primary role in ebusiness and ebusiness relies on its customers using the Web to connect to services and make payments. The goods may be delivered off-line, as in the case of Amazon.com, or delivered electronically, as in the case of iTunes.
